Meal “runners” ride along with volunteer drivers on home-delivered meal routes to seniors who are homebound due to illness, recovery or disability.
Meal runner volunteers help with navigation and with delivering meals to seniors’ doors, joining in the best part of the volunteer delivery experience: meeting and socializing with seniors. They also have the opportunity to get to know fellow volunteers who share the same compassion and desire to help seniors in their communities.
Volunteers meet the drivers at one of five pick-up sites, and generally be available at least one day a week Monday through Friday between the hours of 9AM and Noon. Pick-up sites are located in Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Rancho Cordova and West Sacramento.
