On August 28th, volunteer drivers, Jean and Olive delivered our 2 millionth meal to a homebound senior in the city Citrus Heights. Citrus Heights Vice Mayor Sue Frost was there to support the special delivery, visiting with the participant and volunteers.
After The 2 Millionth Meal Delivery, volunteers, seniors, elected officials, donors, and other members of the community, gathered for lunch at the All Seasons Café at the Rusch Park Community Center to celebrate the milestone. Congressman Ami Bera, District 4 Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan, and Vice Mayor Sue Frost were present to show their support to the senior community and assisted the volunteers in serving lunch to the group.
A total of 85 people attended The 2 Millionth Meal Event. Thank you to all our volunteers, donors, participants, and community supporters, together we have served 2 million meals!
