This holiday season marks the 17th annual partnership between Meals on Wheels America and Subaru America for the 2024 Share the Love Event. Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its retailers have donated more than 4.3 million meals and friendly visits to seniors served by local Meals on Wheels programs nationwide.
Why does Subaru support Meals on Wheels? About 13 million seniors are threatened by or experience hunger and 1 in 2 seniors are living alone and lack the income to pay for basic needs. Seniors are particularly vulnerable to inflation spikes and cost of living increases. Therefore, we are proud to partner with Subaru to reach those seniors who are often left behind, struggling to make ends meet and maintain their independence. At Meals on Wheels, Sacramento County, we are dedicated to providing more than just a meal. Our mission is to serve nutritious meals with a friendly smile. By doing this, we aim to help seniors live healthy, fulfilling lives while preserving their dignity and respect. Our vision is to ensure that no senior goes hungry in Sacramento County.
